Working together, learning together

Welcome

Welcome back September 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

The final weekend is upon us! I’m sure your children are ready to return to school and you may be equally ready for them to return!

Since writing to you last week, the local authority have issued further guidelines we need to follow for the first few weeks of school. This is to help us return to school with a cautious approach. I have described some of these below.

Face coverings in school

The Local Authority are recommending that parent/ carers still wear face masks on school site. Staff will still need to wear face coverings in communal areas in school and at the present time we have been advised that parent/ carers cannot come into school. As last year, if you wish to speak with the class teacher, please ring the main office to make an appointment.

Bubbles in school

We are still going to operate separate groups in school for the first few weeks. However, this time they will be phase based. Children will have lunch, breaks and assemblies with their phase group. For example, year 5 and 6 will be in the lunch hall together and year 3 and year 4 will be together.

Snacks at Breaktime

Fruit will be provided free of charge for Early years and Key Stage 1 children. Key Stage Two children are welcome to bring a cereal bar or piece of fruit to eat at breaktime, if they wish. Crisps and chocolate bars/biscuits will not be allowed.

COVID testing

Anyone who has COVID-19 symptoms, has tested positive for COVID-19 by lateral flow test or by PCR test, or is otherwise required to self-isolate must not attend school. Please let the school office know as soon as possible. Pupils who do test positive will need to self-isolate for 10 days. Pupils will not need to self-isolate if they live in the same household as someone who has tested positive for COVID. If you are unsure, please give the school office a ring.

Please remember when on site to distance from other households. Our one-way system helped greatly with this last year.

As a final reminder:

  • Breakfast club starts at 8:15am.
  • Reception through to Year 6 school starts at 9am and finishes at 3:15pm.
  • Nursery’s day is 9am until 12pm.
  •

We look forward to welcoming children back into school on Tuesday 7th September in full uniform. Please remember we operate a no jewellery policy in school.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Take Care. Stay Safe
