Working together, learning together

Welcome

A special visitor lands in Key Stage 1

This week in Key Stage One we have been working very hard and we couldn’t believe it when we found a special parcel outside of our classroom that had dropped out of a flying spaceship! In the parcel was a diary that belonged to an alien called Beegu who we believe is lost somewhere in our school. We have become investigators in class and have loved looking for clues to help find Beegu and reunite her with her family!

In Maths we have been working on addition and subtraction. In year 1 we have learned all about fact families and are confident to use part-whole models to help us work out our answers. In year 2 we have been looking at adding and subtracting two digit numbers using tens and ones and drawings to support us.

In computing this half term we are learning all about programming and we have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Beebots and learning how to move them from one place to another.

Well done for another super week Years 1 and 2!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Miss Lawson

A few key things to remember:

  • Bring a water bottle every day to stay hydrated.
  • Remember to bring a coat to school, it is getting cold on the playground!
  • Return homework and reading books to school on a Tuesday.
  • Our PE days are a Monday and a Thursday – don’t forget to come to school in your PE kit.
