Working together, learning together

Welcome

Year 1 Home learning 22.4.2020

Hello Year 1, I hope you are all staying safe.

English – Following on from yesterday I would like you to see if you can find any of your describing words that rhyme, for example slime and climb. You could use words from the book to help you.  https://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/have-some-fun/storybooks-and-games/rumble-in-the-jungle/

Maths – In school we have learnt to count in 2’s. Today I would like you to practise this by completing the number tracks but also saying them aloud to an adult. Can you count forwards and backwards in 2’s? How far can you go? Can you make your own missing number problems for someone else to solve?

Science- There are lots of different types of trees in the rainforest. I would like you to see what trees you can identify today whilst out on your daily walk or through your windows using either the leaf ID sheet or twig ID sheet below. More information on different trees can be found here. https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/blog/2020/03/tree-id-kids/

Phonics – Practice the code for /yoo/ as in newspaper and rescue.
