We are pizzaiolos!
Today Year 1 and some Reception children went to Pizza Express in Newcastle to learn how to make pizzas and got to wear their own chefs hat and apron. The children learnt about the history of the margarita pizza before being given their dough to kneed, some of us even tried pizza spinning like the pizzaiolo showed us! We then spread on our tomato and cheese topping before learning a little about some of the different ingredients. The pizzas all smelt delicious once they were cooked and we couldn’t help but have a slice (or four)! Finally we all received a certificate to say we were now pizzaiolos (pizza chefs). If was a wonderful morning and we couldn’t wait to share our pizzas with our families.
