Welcome

School Meals

Swalwell Primary is partnered with Gateshead Council catering department to deliver healthy, fresh meals to pupils every day. We have a varied choice from hot meal and baked potatoes to wrap, salad and special diet meals.

The cost of the school meal for is £2.40 for school aged children Year 3-6, adults £3 and nursery children £1.40 (September 22). Reception to Year 2 pupils are entitled to Universal Free School Meals funded by the government and is not means tested.

If you are in receipt of certain benefits, you can claim Free School Meals through the local authority by completing a form from the school office. If you are successful, your child will receive a meal at no cost to you and school will receive additional funding called Pupil Premium to help with resources. Even children in Reception to Year 2 can claim this as well as the Universal free school Meals.

The link below provides more information but the office can help if you have any questions.
