Working together, learning together

Welcome

Week 2 Thursday home learning Year 1

Good morning Year 1.

I hope you are all doing well. I am in school today so if you need any support or advice please give us a ring.

Maths – Here is a your last reasoning problem about mass to try with an adult. Can you find more than one answer?

English – Today I would like you to write your instructions on how to trap a giant. Remember to use ‘First, next, then, after that and finally’. Try to make your instructions clear and easy to follow. You could also add a bullet point list on things you will need for the instructions.

Story – The story we were focusing on in class was Jack and the Beanstalk, here you will find the whole story to watch. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/english-ks1-jack-and-the-beanstalk-home/zff42sg

History – I would like you to research castles. Who lives in castles? Where is the closest castle to Gateshead? Does anyone still live in it? Have you ever been to a castle?

Phonics – Practise the two different codes for /er/. Try and remember where each one is found in words.

Spellings – It is the last day with these spellings so why not ask an adult to test you. The words are: looked, asked, could, house, friend, called, people, should, would, school.

Enjoy!
