Welcome

Coronavirus advice in educational settings

Dear Parents/Carers,

All schools are receiving information daily from the Department of Education with advice and guidance. We closely follow this advice. As I’m sure you are aware, last night the Government has issued new guidance around COVID-19 (coronavirus).

The Government guidance from Public Health England now states:

If you have NEW symptoms (from today) of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), however mild, stay at home and do not leave your house for seven days from when your symptoms started.

Stay at home for seven days if you have either:

• a high temperature of 37.8c or more

• a new continuous cough

This will help to protect others in your community while you are infectious.

In this instance, I would ask you to contact school to advise of your child’s absence.

During the past few weeks, as a school, we have informed the children on the importance of handwashing, sneeze or cough into a tissue, shared videos and songs to hand wash to and issued games and activities linked to handwashing. This is obviously a very dynamic situation and if advice does change, we will share this with you, using Parentmail, Facebook and our website to keep you updated.

For further information, please click the link below to view the leaflet from Public Health England.

At the time of writing this, I can confirm we have NO confirmed cases of the virus, I am simply writing out to you as further Government information has become available. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Have a restful weekend.

Regards

Rachel Hocking
