Dear Parents/Carers,
Last night, it was announced that schools across the country will close on Friday 20th March until further notice.
It was also announced that schools will still be open for the children of key workers and some vulnerable pupils.
As of yet, I do not have any definitive detail about which families this will apply to.
I am also aware that many of you will feel concerned about your child’s education and that you may have many questions.
We have prepared for this possibility be sending work home. Our staff were out delivering the packs into the community last night.
I am in constant contact with Malcolm Brown, our Vice Chair of Governors, and he and I will do all we can to keep you informed.
When we have further information about key workers and what this means for our school, I will be in touch.
The staff, the governors and I are aware that you may feel anxious and confused about the current situation. I promise we will keep you informed and will update our website regularly as well as using Parentmail to keep communication open with you over the coming days.
As usual, I will continue be on our yard morning and evening to welcome your child into our school. If you have any questions ask me then. If your child, or anyone in your family, is self-isolating, then please let them know we are thinking of them.
These are uncertain times, but I promise to offer you certainty when I can. I know you have many ways of sharing this with other parents so please do. We are stronger together and you have a part to play.
Take care and stay safe.
Mrs Rachel Hocking
