Working together, learning together

Welcome

Year 5 Home Learning 24.03.2020

Good morning Year 5!

I hope you all enjoyed your first day of home learning yesterday. Today, I would like you to complete the following…

English- As we were never able to finish Shackleton’s Journey, I would like you to conduct some research about the final months of the expedition. Were all of the crew rescued? If so, how? How long were they away for altogether? What happened when they returned home? You can present this in any way you like. You could create a fact file, a mini report or you could verbally present your findings to a parent/carer/sibling.

Maths- Today, you are going to use the place value grid you made yesterday. I would like you to create a set of numbers which are a mix of 3, 4 and 5 digits. Can you multiply each of these numbers by 10, 100 and 1000? For example- 5,972 x 10 = 59,720    5,972 x 100 = 597,200    5,972 x 1000 = 5,972,000

PE- I would like you to spend time today staying active. Can you create your own half hour fitness class? This could include star jumps, running on the spot, burpees and lunges. If you need ideas, below is a link for Joe Wicks.
