Year 6 Scientists
For science week, Year 6 completed many experiments – one a day! However our favourite was an experiment to see what would happen when you mixed bicarbonate of soda with vinegar.
To start with we used small canisters and noticed that it fizzed and frothed and then overflowed. Many bubbles were produced.
We then half-filled a bottle with vinegar and added the bicarbonate. We put a balloon on the top of the bottle to see what would happen…
The balloon inflated very quickly because of the gases that were produced when the ingredients were mixed.
