Year 4 Home Learning Monday 20th April
Good Morning Year 4!
I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and enjoyed the sunshine. Today we should have been returning to school for our final term of Year 4! Can you believe it? I am missing you all very much but I am very proud of you all for doing your bit by staying at home.
Here is your work for today:
English – This term we are going to be looking at a new book in English. Have a look at the front cover carefully and answer the following questions in your home school book.
- What do you think the story will be about? Explain why you think this.
- Where do you think the story is set?
- Who do you think the statue is? Why is he made out of gold?
- Who do you think this book is aimed at and why? E.g. adults, children
- What might the title be?
- Write one question about his story that you would like to find out.
Maths – Today we are going to work on our times tables so that when we return to school we can have lots of times tables challenges! Choose a times table that you need to work on and spend some time learning it. It is up to you how you do this but here are some ideas:
- Make a times table poster for your room
- Ask an adult to test you
- Make up your own times table game
- Challenge a sibling or grown up
- Maths shed
- Hit the button
Topic – This term we are going to be starting a brand new topic – Ancient Egypt! Today, I would like you to start with a little bit of research to find out:
- Where is Egypt? Which continent is it in?
- What is the capital city of Egypt?
- What is the name of the river that flows through Egypt?
- What is the weather like in Egypt today?
- Write some questions of your own that you would like to answer over the topic.
