A visit to the Quayside!
š„The Great Fire of Newcastle and Gateshead!š„
This half term in History, Key Stage 1 have been learning all about the Great Fire of Newcastle and Gatesheadš„. To enhance their learning we visited the Quayside which was the location of that fateful night in 1854! The children visited St Mary's Heritage Centre which is the only building that was standing during the events and continues to do so today! We also walked up and down the river to identify how the landscape has changed over time whilst acting out the events of the Great Fire! The children behaved impeccably and were perfect Swalwell representatives! Well done Key Stage 1!
