Working together, learning together

Welcome

Year 1 Home learning 19.5.2020

Good morning Year 1.

Phonics -This week we are practising the different code for /igh/. We have learnt /igh/ as in knight and /ie/ as in pie. Today’s code is /y/ as in cry. We usually find this at the end of words. Make a word list with this code.
Don’t forget you can practise these using book 26 on https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/

English – Last week we recapped question marks and exclamation marks. Read through this week’s story ‘Oh No, George!’ and identify where question marks and exclamation marks are used. What are they used for? https://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/have-some-fun/storybooks-and-games/oh-no-george/

Maths – Today we are revisiting telling the time to the half hour. Try the questions below and then practise telling the time throughout the day. What time do you get up? What time do you have lunch?

Science – Dog’s have amazing senses of smell and hearing. We have 5 senses: touch, taste, smell, sight and hearing. I want you to learn more about what each of these sense do by watching a clip and playing a game here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/z9yycdm/articles/zxy987h I have also set you some work on PurpleMash to practise this.

Have a great day.
Mrs Leaver
