On Thursday 25th April, Year 5 visited the Science Centre in Newcastle to start our Earth and Space topic! We were lucky enough to learn all about the solar system when we visited the planetarium and we were able to see what the moon looks like from really close up. We watched a Science theatre show where a scientist conducted some really interesting experiments and we finished off by taking part in a ‘Destination Space’ workshop. We looked at a real life astronaut suit and found out that astronauts have to wear very big nappies in space! We all had a great time.
