Year 1 Homelearning 4.5.2020
Hi Year 1, I hope you all had a lovely weekend. This week is going to be a little bit different as we are not going to have a story as our main focus. Instead we will be focusing on VE day which happens on Friday 8th May and is a special one this year as it marks 75 years. We will be building up to you having your own VE day celebration on Friday.

Maths – We are going to look at telling the time this week and we are going to start with using ‘before and after’. Answer the following question. You could then draw your own day and ask someone to quiz you on what you do ‘before’ or ‘after’ something.
Science – Can you make a paper aeroplane that travels further than an adults? Does a bigger or smaller plane travel further? Should it have long or short wings?
Phonics – We are looking at two new pieces of code for /ai/. /eigh/ as in eight and /ey/ as in grey. Practise this code on www.oxfordowl.co.uk level 5 book 25.
