We Will Remember Them
Year 6 attended the Fields of Remembrance, in Saltwell Park on Friday 8th November.
During their time there they listened to representatives from the Royal British Legion discussing the different fields and why it was important to remember the soldiers from the two world wars as well other conflicts since.
The class decided to lay our wreath and crosses at the Field of Remembrance for the animals who lost their lives during conflicts: horses, mules, donkeys, dogs and carrier pigeons.
Once back in school, we created our own blackout poetry on the theme of remembrance and also some poignant silhouettes of World War 1 soldiers.
