Good morning Year 1,
English – Yesterday we learnt a little bit about VE day. Today I would like you to look at the following picture and write what differences you can spot between then and now. Do any of your family remember VE day? You caould talk to them about what it was like.
Maths – Today we are looking at telling the time to the hour. Look at the explanation of the hands on a clock and then try to answer the two questions. Practise this throughout the day. What time do you get up? What time do you have lunch? What time do you go to bed?
PE – Children in 1945 played different games to children now. Try playing some of the games: hopscotch, marbles, jump rope, skittles, hula hoop.
Phonics – I would like you to continue to practise the new for /ai/ /eigh/ and /ey/. How many words can you think of that have these spellings?
