Fire, Fire!
Key Stage 1 had so much fun on a visit to the Quayside to enhance our knowledge on a topic that we have all enjoyed, the Great Fire of Gateshead. We were lucky enough to be joined by Richard the ‘History Bloke’, who took us on a tour of Newcastle and Gateshead to share the events which took place when Mr Bertram’s factory caught on fire! We loved visiting the local landmarks that are still present today and identifying how things have changed over time. We finished the day by altering the song ‘London’s Burning’ to ‘Gateshead is Burning’, recalling many of the facts we had learned over the day.
