Working together, learning together

Welcome

Welcome back Key Stage 1!

We have had a wonderful couple of weeks settling in to our new Key Stage 1 class. I am so proud of all of the children for adapting so well to new routines, making wonderful new friendships and trying their best in every single task they do. Make sure to keep an eye on your child's Marvellous Me account to keep up to date with all of their daily awards.

We have had lots of fun in Maths using lots of practical materials to help our understanding. Year 1 have been working hard on securing number knowledge to 10 and Year 2 have been working hard on their place value understanding with numbers to 100.

In English we have been thoroughly enjoying learning all about our new class story 'Aaarrgghh Spider!' by Lydia Monks, building sentences and exploring exclamations to express emotions.

We have had lots of fun exploring the weather in Science, making patterns in Art and learning how to further our knowledge through continuous provision as well as much more!

Here are some helpful reminders for the upcoming week:

  • Our PE days are Monday and Thursday. Children will need to attend school in their uniform on these days, bringing trainers with them. School have provided each child with their own PE kit in class which they will change into for their lesson.
  • Children should bring a water bottle into school with them every day to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Have a wonderful weekend!
