Working together, learning together

Welcome

Year 6 Home Learning Week 2 Thursday 2nd April

Good morning. Well done to those of you that have been on Reading Plus in the last few days.  The battle between 2nd and 3rd and 4th and 5th place is really close now! Who will make it into the top 5 by the end of the week?

English – Look at the image below.

Now use the clues in the image to help you answer these questions. Remember how to write your PEE answers – point (answer), explain (why), evidence (what can you see that gives you that clue). Write your answers in your home learning book.

  • How are the owls related?
  • Which owl is about to take its first flight? How do you know?
  • How does the young owl feel about flying?
  • What might it be thinking? Add a thought bubble to the picture.
  • Is the older owl worried?
  • What advice might the older owl give to the younger one?

Maths – Have a look at this website, the work I’m setting for you today is similar to that used in yesterday’s video lesson. You can use that to help you

Can you work out which number each emoji/picture represents? You may need to write things down rather than trying to work it out in your head.

This is really important for Year 7 when you will need to know algebra.

Science – Classification

Using the features below, can you identify at least one animal that has that feature. (You can’t use the animals in the pictures)

You’ll need this list for tomorrow so keep it safe!

Have fun.
