Hi Year 1, I hope you’re all doing well.
Maths – Here is a problem for you to try. Look at how many cubes each item weighs and then work out how you could make the scales balance using cubes when the items are put together.
English – Today I would like you to make a plan of how you would trap the giant. On Monday we looked at the instructions to trap a dragon so that may give you some ideas. You may even want to have a go at making the trap! If you do make the trap add a picture to the school Facebook page for me to see.
Story – The story we were focusing on in class was Jack and the Beanstalk, here you will find the whole story to watch. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/english-ks1-jack-and-the-beanstalk-home/zff42sg
PSHE – Who was the ‘baddie’ in the story? Was it the giant or was it Jack? Watch this video and discuss it with an adult. Why don’t you write in the comments what you think? https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/z29b4wx
Phonics – Practise the two different codes for /air/
Spellings – Don’t forget I have set you spellings to practise on Spelling Shed. You could try writing them in sentences today. The words are: looked, asked, could, house, friend, called, people, should, would, school.
Enjoy!
