Early Years had a fantastic, if very chilly, visit to Gibside National Trust last week. We had a very important mission to complete. Santa had lost all of his reindeer sacks and there would be no presents delivered on Christmas Eve if we didn't find them. We wrapped up warm and followed one of Santa's elves around the grounds of Gibside to look for the sacks. We found them all and learnt lots of facts about Christmas and animals that hibernate during the winter. We used our senses to explore different herbs that are used in Christmas food and had a go at playing some instruments and singing some Christmas songs. We then went back to the warm forest room where we all made our own Christmas decoration to take home.
