Working together, learning together

Welcome

Year 4 Home Learning Wednesday 22nd April

Good morning everyone!

Here is your work for today:

English – Use the ideas you came up with yesterday to write a descriptive paragraph about the Happy Prince. Remember to think about your audience when writing and help them to imagine exactly what the Happy Prince looks like. Remember to use conjunctions, expanded noun phrases and similes.

Maths – Here is a problem to solve using the work that you did yesterday. Think carefully. How many seconds are in 2 minutes? How can you use this to help you?

I would also like you to spend some time looking at the clock and learning how to tell the time. You will have done this in Years 2 and 3 but it is always important to practise. Ask a grown up to help you. Start with o’ clock and half past and when you are ready move on to quarter past and quarter to. There are lots of videos and games online to help you. The best way to learn to tell the time is to spend a just a few minutes each day working on it.

Science – Before Easter, we were learning all about states of matter and the water cycle. We talked about solids, liquids and gases and how the molecules behave differently in each state. Make a poster or an information page to show me everything you have learnt. Here are some websites and videos you might use to help you:
