Health and Well Being Statement

At Swalwell Primary School, we understand the need for everyone in our school to have a healthy lifestyle. This helps pupils and staff to do their best and build on their achievements. We actively promote physical and emotional health, and aim to equip pupils with the understanding and skills they need to make informed decisions about their health, both now and in the future. By championing healthy eating, healthy lifestyles and emotional health and well-being, we are aiming to continue to raise standards and improve levels of pupil achievement.

Our Health and Well-being team comprises of:

  • Mrs Hocking (Senior Mental Health Lead);
  • Miss Grey (PSHE curriculum lead and pending first aid for adult mental health training);
  • Katie Doyle (family support worker; pupil advocate and pending youth mental health first aid training)

Swalwell Primary School Mental Health and Wellbeing Provision Map

The following provision map shows staff and parents the path of support for children. At times, individual concerns may require an alternative or unique approach (to be assessed on an individual basis). If, as a parent, you are concerned about a child, please speak with the class teacher. Staff, you should seek advice from SLT. At all stages, safeguarding procedures should be followed if a concern threshold is reached.
