Working together, learning together

Welcome

Year 4 Home Learning Thursday 21st May

Good Morning everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed the sunshine yesterday.

Here is your work for today:

English – Today we will continue to work on our sentence structure.

I’d like you to look out of your window, sit in your garden or go for a walk. Think about all of the things you can see, feel, smell and hear – write down as many ideas you can think of – e.g. birds tweeting, sun beaming down, clear blue skies.

Now use these ideas to write 5 sentences. Try to include at least on of the skills below in each sentence.

  1. Fronted Adverbial – Beneath my feet, the tall, green grass swayed in the breeze.
  2. Adverb – The birds were singing sweetly in the tall, oak tree.
  3. Simile – The daisies danced like ballerinas in the field.
  4. Expanded noun phrase – High above the treetops, small birds with colourful feathers swooped around.
  5. Prepositional phrase – As the sun beamed in the sky, the children laughed and played.
  6. Conjunction – While the children played in the sunshine, the grown ups enjoyed their peace and quiet.

Maths – Today, I’d like you to practise your multiplication and division skills. I have added some videos for you to watch if you need some help.
